First of all, thank you to everyone who has supported Alysium this Black Friday weekend. The turnout has been mad, especially considering I didn’t do a crazy discount or huge clearance. You lot really showed up for me, and I appreciate it more than you know.

I need to be honest with you all, the same way I was on Instagram. If you’ve seen the swipe post, you already know the full story. If not, here’s the short version.

For the last year or so, I’ve basically been trying to run a luxury, handcrafted, plant-based brand on a no profit system. I tried to keep things “affordable” at a price point that doesn’t actually make sense for clean beauty, small batches or high-grade ingredients. Cold pressed oils aren’t cheap. Natural ingredients aren’t cheap. Electricity, gas, packaging, shipping, nothing is cheap!

 I tried so hard to keep my prices low, everything started slipping. Orders took longer. I burnt out. I was overwhelmed. My workflow dropped—not because the products got worse, but because I was trying to do everything with no money.

I’m the one formulating, making, filling, labelling, cleaning, packing, doing content, running the website, doing admin, customer service… and now I’ve had to get my first EVER 9-5 just to keep my personal bills paid

I had to pivot. That’s why I left London. That’s why I gave up my warehouse. That’s why I moved to a setup that I could manage alone. A lot of brands haven’t survived this climate. Alysium is still standing almost 6 years later because I adapted instead of giving up.

But adapting also means being honest when something HAS to change.

Big brands can sell things for £5–£7 because they have investors, factories, PR teams, big warehouses and mass production. They are not handmaking small batches or creating targeted treatments. Their products are designed to not irritate, not to fix anything.

Alysium is the opposite. My formulas are targeted, concentrated, potent and made to actually treat things like eczema, scalp health, moisture retention, growth and skin repair. I can’t keep creating luxury small batch formulations at mass production prices.

So here’s what’s happening.

THE PRICE CHANGE

From Thursday, prices will be updated properly to match the labour, the ingredients and the quality.

This is the last weekend you will ever see these prices.

£1 UK Shipping + International Freebies

From 28th Nov to 3pm GMT of 1st Dec:

• All UK orders have £1 shipping

• All international orders receive a freebie

I can’t lower international shipping, but I still wanted to give something back.

After the Black Friday and cyber Monday period ends the website will be down until Thursday 4th Decenner while I reprice, restock, fix workflows and update everything.

I haven’t made the changes yet, so I’m still operating at limited capacity.

I will get everything out as quickly as possible, but please don’t bombard me with emails. I’ve already explained what’s been going on, and things will get better once the new system is in place.
